Why ordinary backup is not enough
Ransomware encrypts files on the server, including writable backup files. The Corecasys system separates original data (read/write) from read-only backups and keeps a System Image in a separate Safe Zone, so recovery remains possible even after a ransomware attack.

How the backup system works
- Data is backed up in at least five sets (original, mon, wed, fri, day15, day28).
- Customer servers/computers have full read/write access to the original data.
- Access to mon, wed, fri, day15 and day28 sets is read-only.
- System Image backups are stored in a Safe Zone that malware cannot reach.
- System Images are used for recovery when systems are infected or servers fail.
- Recovery service to restore normal operation costs about 3,000–4,000 THB.
Customer responsibilities for backup care
- Regularly check the customer Desktop Administrator screens for ‘Backup’ and ‘7-LEVEL’.

- Schedule a server reboot before backup to clear locked open files.
- Install antivirus and schedule an automatic deep scan every night.
